Lemon Tart

 
  • 3 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 3 teaspoons brown sugar, packed
  • 6 teaspoons butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • pinch salt
  • 2 tablespoons lemon curd
  • powdered sugar,  for garnish
  • lemon slice(s),  for garnish
 
1. Preheat child-sized oven for about 15-20 minutes.
2. Spray the baking pan with non-stick spray (I used butter flavored).
3. Cream sugars and butter together.
4. Add flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt; mix thoroughly to form a dough.
5. Press dough into bottom of baking pan.
6. Bake for 15 minutes (for rectangle pan) ; cool for 5 minutes.
7. Very carefully remove crust from baking pan.
8. Spread with lemon curd.
9. If desired, garnish with powdered sugar and/or lemon slices.
 
 
Makes 1 rectangle tart (for the Ultimate oven) or 2 round tarts (for other versions).
